I worked on updating existing graphics for Circus Arts Institute.

Got to chalk this bad boy at Quad City’s 10th annual Chalk Art Fest- I was the featured artist and a guest judge for their chalk art competition!

20’ tall x 12’ wide - 19 hours start to finish

Sadly, the rain came shortly after completion, so here’s pics so you can see what happens when it rains! We try to cover it up and save it, but sometimes the rain is too heavy and water seeps under and does damage… but people still enjoyed looking at it when the storm passed!

I want to thank Quad City Arts @quadcityarts for hosting me and putting this all together, The Figge Art Museum @figgeartmuseum for letting me do a talk about chalk art, and The Cultural Trust @theculturaltrustqc for their time and efforts in elevating the arts in this region. Thank you to Austin who jumped in on Sunday to help me finish on time and to fix water damage made to the piece.

QC is about two and a half hours west of Chicago and is on the border between Illinois and Iowa, separated by the Mississippi River (which has a lot of catfish in it!). This is a fantastic chalk fest and there’s a lot of local talent! Photos of some of the winning chalk art pieces at the end of the carousel.

Yesterday was the 3D chalk art workshop at @quadcityarts - 20 participants, most of whom had never done chalk art before, absolutely killed it in creating three different 3d pieces. It was amazing to seem jump into it and feel proud of the finished pieces- didn’t they turn out fantastic?!

Can’t share the whole board because of an NDA, but here are some detail shots of a board I did recently in Atlanta! They wanted their board to be inspired by the city, so I had fun picking some of my favorite landmarks and drawing them with chalk pen. I’ll always have love for my hometown of ATL! I can’t believe how much it has changed in the past few years.

Each letter represents a color that Italy has made famous: Celeste blue, Veronese green, Naples yellow, Valentino red, and Schiaparelli Pink. Each letter also contains a part of the historical culture of the country. Bellissimo!

The largest chalk piece I’ve ever done! 25’x25’ made over three days of work this summer. It was for a satellite company that wanted to take a photo of it from space, but it was too cloudy so that didn’t happen. 😞 The idea was to have something simple that could photograph well from a satellite. It’s supposed to look like a stack of postcards and some stamps and shells with a San Diego vibe! This was my first piece using the Meta Quest 3, which saved me hours and hours of prep work. I’m thrilled with how it turned out even though we didn’t get a photo of it from space. Craftsmanship 💯

Look what I found! Chalk was my favorite thing to do as a kid in the 90s… My lil sis and I would make elaborate bike paths and doodles and self portraits. It makes my heart happy that something I enjoyed so much as a child is what I get to do as an adult. The universe is a beautiful mystery!

Forgot to post this a while ago! I redid the menu board and the specials board at a cute little juice shop in Encinitas. This style of design is my absolute favorite to create... little contained boxes that have illustrations in certain places with a crisp, eye-catching white marker to bring attention to the menu. Chef's kiss!

I used an AR headset to trace my image onto the surface for the first time instead of using a pounce. 2. This was the first piece my toddler helped me with substantially! They did the sky and part of the ocean! 3. Helping me sparked their interest in chalk and we’ve done a few small pieces at our home this week. I am a proud momma!

I know y’all are gonna ask, so the chalk was done on a piece of plywood that was painted with one coat of chalkboard paint. The plywood was unfinished which I don’t recommend as it gives splinters 🤕 You can see the wood texture and the indentations in the art if you look closely!

Thank you to @fuseevents and the @artwalksd crew for having me! I’m looking forward to the Bella Vita festival they’re hosting in Little Italy, SD, this fall!

Grateful to the @la_jolla_shores_association for having me at Tides of Creativity this past Saturday! So many people had never seen this art form before and asked a ton of questions. The most common one? Can I seal it so it stays? Sadly, no! The event ended at 3pm and traffic opened back up then so cars could drive on it. It slowly deteriorates, water speeds up that process. But it sure makes for a good photo! 📸

I ❤️ corporate events! I chalked 12 boards for Taco Bell this week, 3 of which were auctioned off for the Taco Bell Foundation. This one was my favorite! I got to preview the new 2025 Taco Bell menu, too. The quesocrisp taco is my favorite!

Checking in- This is my aura progression from 2021 to 2024, all done in Polaroids using Kirlian Photography. This has been an ongoing art project since 2014, when I first visited Cali (scroll down my feed to see previous documentation).

This set is especially significant since it documents my only pregnancy- I had an aura photo taken each trimester. I used to have exclusively orange/yellow auras in the beginning, but as I’ve grown in the world I have more blues (calmness, intuition) and magentas (happiness, connectedness).

Fun note: I had an aura photo done on the other side of the world at a spiritual center who used the camera to try to change everyone’s aura to magenta, as they believed that was the best frequency from which to live life.

As an artist, I have always been drawn to color and emotions and this experiment pairs the two beautifully. I just love this project.

Today’s the first anniversary of the day we said goodbye to White Fang. I did this 3d piece in remembrance of her at a festival last year. It was emotional for me. Here’s what I had written to accompany this drawing:

In Loving Memory of White Fang

White Fang was my first pet as an adult, adopted when I was 19. My husband (then fiancé) and I adopted her when she was three months old. At the Petsmart where we met her for the first time, she growled and hissed. The volunteer assured us that this was not normal for “K.C.” (Kitty Cat) and we believed her. We took her to Zestos and tried to feed her french fries and chicken nuggets. She was a terrible kitten- After the first two weeks of living with her, we debated if we should give her back. We were too embarrassed to do it (the adoption process was rigorous. Rightly so as we were so young) so we ended up keeping her. I’m so glad we did. Over the years, she had many nicknames, but Fang stuck with her. She was the sweetest cat, only favoring my husband and I, and growled and hissed at anyone who wasn’t us. She lived with us in five different places in Atlanta and even made the trek to California with us in 2018. She loved to snuggle and get “snick snicks”. When I was pregnant in 2021, she would lay on my tummy and hug it with her arms. As my daughter grew, her kicks in my stomach would make Fang bounce around it would make me laugh and laugh. She was ill and diagnosed with a thyroid condition for the last few years of her life, but we didn’t mind the daily administrations of medication or constant vet visits. Fang passed away in January of 2024 and will be forever missed. This artwork is in memory of my precious fur baby, who has crossed the rainbow bridge.

This was a fun live performance piece to make at the Gaslamp Quarter for @outsetmedical celebrating Kidney Week! The American Society of Nephrology had its annual meeting in SD this year, and as its attendees strolled around for lunches and breaks, they got to watch me work. This was a fun live performance piece to make at the Gaslamp Quarter for @outsetmedical celebrating Kidney Week! The American Society of Nephrology had its annual meeting in SD this year, and as its attendees strolled around for lunches and breaks, they got to watch me work. Recent work alert! I created a chalkboard for Intuit San Diego a few months ago with goals for their new fiscal year. They wanted a quintessential “San Diego” vibe, so I leaned in heavy with the palm trees and highlighted the many surf buses that drive around here and the stinky but adorable La Jolla seals. Che Fico! I chalked a 3D gelato for Bella Vita Fest this weekend. Drawing food always makes me hungry! It took about 5 hours to draw on site from start to finish- 2 of those hours was waiting for the base paint to dry! 4�’ wide by 8’ tall. The festival theme was anything Italian! “Look mommy, a unicorn!”, said dozens of little kids at Chalktoberfest this weekend. Continuing my mission to do more 3D pieces this year… Revisiting the rainbow unicorn didn’t disappoint! Made this 3d chalk art for the #PWX2024 conference. The piece was sponsored by the Bobcat Company and showed three of their products helping repair a dilapidated city. I've included some detail shots and photos from the wrong perspective so you can see the distortion of the piece in real life. Through a camera lens, the image is forced to look 3 dimensional, like there's really a hole in the ground!

This week, I teamed up with UCSD Health to celebrate their Honor Roll Award from U.S. News and World Report. I got to create fun and colorful chalk art at Jacobs Medical Center in La Jolla, Hillcrest Medical Center in San Diego, and one of their corporate offices over the span of a few days.

I replicated the same piece at all 3 locations. The wide variety of surfaces made for some interesting results!

It was awesome working with the UCSD Health marketing team, especially when the hospital’s leadership came out to take photos with the finished artwork. Congrats to UCSD Health on this amazing achievement! It was a pleasure to be part of your celebration.
