Aura Studies

Katie has been documenting her energy field through special photographs for many years. In metaphysics, the aura is an emanation around the body that changes depending on mood, interactions, diet, etc. These images are part of an ongoing project to document Katie’s aura through Kirlian photography. Kirlian photography maps energetic discharges from the body, and Kirlian polaroids specifically assign colors to the energy based on the frequency of the discharge. Though there are many schools of thought, some believe that the colors in these images are closely linked to the energetic system called the chakras. For example, someone in a creative mood might emit an orange aura as it is associated with the sacral chakra.
